We recently discussed the sighting of the black Galaxy S III and the likelihood of its release. Our speculation was confirmed this morning by Samsung’s official blog:
Yup, that’s a brown phone. I think this is the first brown phone I’ve ever seen–Samsung is really sticking to its guns with the whole “Nature” UX design language. But don’t worry, the phone will also be coming in ‘Sapphire Black,’ which hearkens back to the success of the piano black Galaxy S III:
With these new colors, Samsung has expanded to 4 nature inspired colorways: Garnet Red, Titanium Grey, Sapphire Back and Amber Brown. To complement these organic tones, Samsung has crafted the Galaxy S III with “curved lines and clean, soft features,” which is a stark contrast from the boxy/angular design of the previous Galaxy S II. In addition, the hyperglaze backing is quite the opposite of the original matte backing of the last generation, and even the front display glass is radiused at the edges.
Although there is no mention of a release date for the new colorways, the Garnet Red variant is available now at AT&T stores, but we can guess that at the least the black or grey versions should hit U.S. stores sooner rather than later. What do you guys think of the new colors? We are still big fans of our Pebble Blue version, but let us know what you think in the comments below!
