My Samsung Galaxy S II is hands-down the best electronic device–phone or otherwise–that I have had the pleasure of using, but there is just one more thing that would complement this delicious device–Ice Cream Sandwich.
Android 4.0 has been touted as the biggest and best update of any of Android’s iterations, and it unifies the smartphone and tablet OS platforms. We’ve seen numerous alpha builds of ICS for the Galaxy S II, but this latest update from Samsung Mobile Israel is our first glimpse at an official statement regarding the update’s release:
We promised we were working on it. You waited patiently. And on 15 March it’ll arrive: Android version 4, ICS, to tens of thousands of GALAXY S II devices purchased from cellular companies in the country or directly from us. We are very excited for the launch, hope you are too 🙂
That’s right, in just about two weeks, we should be seeing Samsung’s official build of ICS for the Galaxy S II. This is great news for Israeli Galaxy S II owners as well as owners of the GT-I9100 (international version) that it is based off of. This will likely mean updates for the rest of the international variants within a month or two, with longer wait times for the U.S. Galaxy S IIs, which will require more time due to different hardware and cooperation with their respective carriers. Stick with us for more updates regarding the official release date of Android 4.0 for the Galaxy S II!
