Samsung has published the very first picture of the Nexus Prime in a promotinal video for their Unpacked 2011 Event:
Like cookies and milk or wine and candles, Samsung and Google are partnering once more in a relationship that in this video, is described as a perfect combination. Having already collaborated together on the Nexus S, the dynamic duo is expected to announce the next pure Google phone with Ice Cream Sandwich at this year’s CTIA.
Nexus Prime C
In the video, we get a brief glimpse of the phone in profile, showing off a thoroughly curved chassis with a prominent lower chin, a camera bulge and 3 gold contact points, presumably for some type of dock or charging stand. The phone looks extremely thin, much like a curved Galaxy S II and we wouldn’t be hesitant to say its in the sub-9mm thickness category as well.
Nexus S contour display
As you can see from the image above, Samsung and Google’s Nexus S contour display has a curved piece of glass rather than an actually curved AMOLED display, but due to the extreme thinness and moderate curvature of this device, I wonder if they will be using an actually contoured display and PCB inside of the chassis. Stay tuned for more details as we get closer to October 11th and the Samsung-Google Unpacked live event in San Diego!
