Samsung has already proven itself to be one of the best OEMs on the market today, but hardware domination is not enough for the electronics giant. Their software campaign charges onward with the announcement of their latest application known as Ch@t ON.

This new messaging service is designed to be a multiple device, cross platform application that will be offered in over 210 countries and in 62 languages. Chat ON supports photo, video and voice messaging as well as contact, calendar and other multimedia sharing. Chat ON is designed to create a unified messaging platform for the large cross section of Samsung devices ranging from Android and Bada smartphones, to features phones, tablets and computers.

In addition to the above features, Samsung will follow the footsteps of FB chat by allowing group chat and messaging. In a step above and beyond, Samsung will integrate an interaction ranking that ranks users based on their activities, although we aren’t exactly certain how it’s measured.

In another step toward Samsung’s cloud service development, ChatOn will also feature an online locker service where users can store files and content to share with their friends. What do you guys think of this new service, will it catch on? Here’s a previous version of a Samsung chat system that we covered. Check out the vid and leave us a comment below!
