Samsung Galaxy S AGPS fix will be released soon

Engardget began to talk about “Samsung Galaxy S AGPS issue”. While all the users have the problem, the aGPS is not working properly. AGPS(Assisted GPS) is a system which can improve the startup performance of a GPS satellite-based positioning system.

From my experience with the AT&T captivate, it ends up getting GPS signal but it takes around 1min while Nexus One or iPhone 4 do less than 10 secs. The issue should be definitely fixed as soon as possible and fortunately, they have acknowledged and being figured out the issue.

It is what Engardget got from Samsung regarding the problem.

“Samsung Mobile is aware that under certain conditions, the GPS on our U.S. Galaxy S devices may not be meeting performance expectations. We are diligently evaluating the situation and will provide an update as soon as possible.”

Note: There are a few unofficial remedies for the matter, but we don’t recommend the workarouds since two of our test phones were not cured by the ways but worse.
