Samsung supplies key parts of iPad

iPad successfully began to sell  700,000 units during the weekend. While we are Samsung Mobile supporters, iPad is truly attractive. 🙂 If Samsung doesn’t release the competitive product soon, I might go for iPad.:)

By the way, I’d like to talk about inside of iPad. Samsung Electronics and LG Display are suppliers of major components.

Samsung manufactured NAND flash memory and dynamic random access memory (DRAM) chip, a key part of the so-called A4 processor used in the iPad.

LG Display provided the 9.7-inch light-emitting diode (LED) backlit display, which is the most expensive part of the touch-based computing device.

Samsung used to use Qualcomm or Texas Instrument AP for its smartphones, but recently they began to use their AP on Jet phone and Omnia II. As you may know, Samsung’s 1GHz AP(application processor) will be embedded on its strategic products, bada phone and Samsung Galaxy S.

Although the architecture would be different between iPad AP and Galaxy S AP, we may assume the Galaxy S and bada performance from the iPad which is already on the market.
